It is the association's objective to offer assistance to people in need in the Himalaya region. In particular, children should get the opportunity for school and continuing education. Furthermore, medical treatment should be available to old and sick people without means.
The Karmapa International Buddhist Institute (K.I.B.I.) is located in New Delhi, India. The site on which the Institute stands was donated by the Indian government to the 16th Karmapa as a gesture of generosity and support to further the Gyalwa Karmapa's wish of providing people from all over the world with a possibility of deepening their knowledge in Buddhist philosophy and practice.
Largest association of the Karma Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism in Germany: Joining together of presently 7 nonprofit regional associations and 50 city and rural centers as well as numerous meditation groups comprised of several thousand members in total.
